การทำประโยคให้เป็นปฏิเสธในภาษาอังกฤษไม่ได้ใช้สูตร Subject + Verb + not กับกริยาทุกชนิด เพราะต้องดูก่อนว่ามี verb to be, auxiliary verb หรือ modal verb อยู่แล้วหรือไม่ ถ้าเป็นกริยาทั่วไปใน Present/Past Simple ต้องใช้ do / does / did + not + V1
